Guests can already enjoy our one-hole golf course, pool table, three meals, endless appetizers, and beverages during their stay.

The idea behind the new addition is pretty simple. We wanted to give hunters a better place to spend the hours after the hunt. Some groups want to keep the competition going. Some want to sit down with a drink and watch everyone else. Most end up doing a little of both.

The golf simulator will be one of the main parts of the new addition. Guests will be able to play a round, hit a few balls, or make up their own competition after coming in from the field.

You don’t need to be a golfer to have fun with it. In fact, watching the non-golfers take a swing might be half the entertainment. A group can see who hits the longest drive, who lands closest to the pin, or who sends the most balls somewhere they were never supposed to go. It also gives us an indoor golf option when South Dakota weather doesn’t cooperate. Cold, wind, rain, or an early sunset won’t matter. The group can stay inside and keep playing.

That indoor-outdoor setup is one part we’re especially looking forward to. Some nights call for cards and golf inside. Others are better spent by a fire, talking about the hunt while the dogs finally wear down for the night.

We already have a one-hole golf course at the lodge. It is just enough golf to have some fun without taking a full afternoon away from hunting. Guests can hit a few shots before supper, play while they wait for the rest of the group, or turn it into a quick contest. You don’t need to pack up and drive to a course. It is right here. Once the golf simulator is ready, there will be an indoor and an outdoor option. If the weather is nice, head outside. If it isn’t, play in the lodge.

The pool table is another easy choice after the hunt. A couple of people can play while the rest of the group visits, eats appetizers, or watches the game. Pool works well because there is no real schedule. Play one game or keep going for two hours. It usually depends on how competitive your group gets.
